Our animals
are not props.
They're the point.
Every decision we make, who we partner with, how we run our sessions, how long the animals stay, starts with one question: is this genuinely good for them? Here's what that looks like in practice.
"If they're not having a good time, neither are we."
The six things we'll never compromise on
These aren't just guidelines we follow. They're the non negotiables that every session, every partnership, and every booking decision is built around.
Our animals are never forced into interaction. If they want to nap, they nap. If they want to explore, they explore. Their comfort is the only schedule we follow.
Sessions are kept to a length that's comfortable for the animals. Dedicated rest time is built into every class day. No exceptions, no matter how booked out we are.
We only work with responsible and verified breeders & rescue organisations we've personally assessed. No puppy farms. No middlemen. No situations that didn't sit right with us.
Every animal is checked before a session. If something feels even slightly off, they stay home. Their health will always come before a fully booked class.
Vet grade disinfectant, clean soft bedding, fresh water at all times. Our spaces are thoroughly cleaned before every session, every single time.
Every person who attends is briefed on how to interact safely and respectfully. Understanding animal body language is part of the Tiny Tails experience.
Where our animals actually come from
We get this question a lot and honestly it's the right question to ask. The answer matters more than most people realise.
Responsible Breeders
We only partner with local, registered breeders who meet our strict welfare standards. Every breeder is visited in person before we commit, no exceptions.
Rescue Organisations
We partner with rescue groups to give young animals a safe, positive space to build confidence and to put a genuine spotlight on how wonderful adoption can be.
We only work with people who care as much as we do.
Finding the right partners wasn't quick. We took our time, asked a lot of questions, and walked away from situations that didn't sit right. The breeders we work with are registered with recognised bodies like the ANKC, MDBA, or RPBA and meet our strict standards for animal health, welfare, and responsible breeding practices. No backyard breeders. No questionable practices. Ever.
Every breeder is carefully evaluated to ensure their animals are raised in safe, hygienic, and enriched environments that support healthy development from the start.
Each event features animals from a single household group wherever possible, with only one litter of vaccinated animals attending. Mixing animals from different environments can cause stress that's invisible to attendees but very real for the animals. So we keep things familiar, calm, and positive for everyone in the room.
- Breeders are assessed in person before any partnership begins
- We never work with puppy farms, commercial brokers, or unverified sources
- Rescue partnerships are ongoing, not a one off feel good moment
- Animals from the same household group are kept together during sessions
- Pickup and drop off times are kept short to minimise travel stress
What the animals' day actually looks like
We think about this a lot. Because a great session for our guests starts with a genuinely great day for the animals in it.
Arrival and settling in
Animals arrive with time to settle before the first session begins. No rushing them straight into a room of strangers. They get space to adjust, sniff around, and feel at home first.
Rest between sessions
We don't run back to back classes without proper breaks. Between each session the animals get dedicated downtime, soft bedding, calm space, food and water, and zero pressure to perform. If they're tired, they rest. Full stop.
Enrichment and play
Enrichment toys and free play are built into the day. For younger animals especially, this kind of positive exposure builds confidence and shapes how they engage with new environments as they grow.
Reading the room
Our team watches body language constantly. Pinned ears, tucked tails, excessive yawning β these are signals we act on immediately. Our guests are also taught to recognise them during the safety briefing at the start of every session.
"Safety isn't a formality. It's the whole foundation."
Safety briefing, every session, no exceptionsHow we run our sessions and why it matters
Every person who walks through our door gets the same briefing before anything else happens. It covers how to approach the animals, how to hold them safely, what not to do, and how to tell when an animal wants space.
This isn't a quick disclaimer read out to tick a box. It's a genuine conversation. We want our guests to feel informed, and we want our animals to feel safe. Those two things are completely connected.
No child under 16 attends without a paying adult present to supervise. Any behaviour that causes distress to the animals, whether intentional or not, is addressed immediately. We'd rather have a slightly awkward conversation than ignore something that makes our animals uncomfortable.
Most people are brilliant. The briefing just makes brilliant people even better at interacting with the animals πΆ
From us to you and to them
Our commitment
is unconditional.
We started Tiny Tails Therapy because we genuinely believe that connection between humans and animals is therapeutic for both sides. But that only holds true if the animals are thriving. So this isn't a welfare page we put up because it looks good. It's the foundation of everything we do. Every booking you make with us is a vote for the kind of animal experiences that actually deserve to exist. Thank you for caring enough to read this far.
